We started with the most famous Tower. The drive over the bridge itself is allready a big event. The tower with its crown jewels, beefeaters, ravens and many, many armour & weapons on display was well worth the visit. All of us were very impressed.
The visit to the all boys, private boarding school Harrows gave the students a special look at UK education. Maybe exclusive and only for the rich and famous bur also informative on the way schools can be run here.
The rich history was colourfully told by our guide and we were shown the grounds: Speach room, Sport fascilities ( swimming pool included), dining hall, the "Harry Potter" room were a scene in the Philosopher Stone was shot and much more.
To top up the day a ride with the bus through the centre of London. We were delivered on the Embankement and had time to walk to Trafalgar Square to admire Nelson, pass Downing Street 10, the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben and finally cross the Thames to finish at the London Eye.
The 4 dimensional introduction film was a very entertaining warming up. We were ready to go up. Our timing was perfect. We started with the last rays of sunlight and went around whith a beautiful sunset. The lights were giving us an astonishing sight over London. From St. Paul's Cathedral to the Big Ben, it was all there.
Everybody went up, even the few who were a bit afraid of heights. Bravo!
Tomorrow we will have another day in this wonderful city. We all love it!
